What NoshWise is, and is not

NoshWise reads the ingredient text on a food label and flags ingredients that may matter for the dietary, allergy, religious, or health profile you have chosen. It is an informational tool and a second pair of eyes, nothing more.

NoshWise is not medical, dietary, or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for reading the product's own packaging or for a qualified professional. It can be wrong: it can miss an ingredient, misread one, match the wrong item, or score a product in a way you would not. Labels change, and our database is incomplete. You are responsible for your own choices about what you and your family eat. For a severe allergy, a medical condition, a medication or supplement interaction, kidney disease, or infant feeding, confirm with a pharmacist, dietitian, doctor, or the manufacturer before relying on anything NoshWise tells you.

Your account

• You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.
• Give accurate information and keep it current. One account per person.
• You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done through your account. Tell us at admin@noshwise.app if you think it has been used without your permission.
• You may add family members to your account and enter their details on their behalf. You confirm you are entitled to do so, and these terms apply to that use as if it were your own.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use NoshWise for anything unlawful, or in a way that could harm someone;
• scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract the ingredient database or any other content, or use automated tools to place unusual load on the service;
• resell, sublicense, or make the service available to others as if it were your own;
• copy, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code, models, or database structure;
• interfere with the service or its security, probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or misuse the feedback or contribution features;
• upload content you do not have the right to upload, or anything malicious.

Each account has usage limits that depend on its plan, including daily caps on scans. We may apply reasonable technical limits and may throttle or block activity that looks abusive or automated.

Plans and payment

• NoshWise has a Free plan and two paid plans, Standard (S$9.99 per year) and Premium (S$29.99 per year). Prices are in Singapore dollars and include any applicable tax unless stated otherwise.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. Your use of checkout is also subject to Stripe's terms.
• Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep the paid features until then.
• Switching between Standard and Premium takes effect immediately. Stripe applies a prorated charge or credit for the rest of the current period and your renewal date does not change.
• We may change plan prices or what each plan includes. If a change affects your plan we will give reasonable notice before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
• Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we do not give partial refunds for unused time. We may choose to give a refund at our discretion.
• We may stop offering paid plans, or new sign-ups to them, at any time. If we stop a plan you are on, we will not charge you again for it.

Your content and data

You keep ownership of the information you put into NoshWise, including the photos you scan and the health details you record. You give us permission to store and process that information to run the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, including on behalf of a family member.

Our content

NoshWise, its name and branding, the app, the ingredient database, the scoring logic, and the text and design of the site belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for your own household's food choices while these terms are in force. Nothing here transfers any intellectual property to you.

Third-party services

NoshWise relies on other companies to work, including Stripe for payments, Google Cloud for one of the label-reading engines, Neon for the database, Hostinger for hosting, and an email provider for messages such as password resets. Their handling of data is covered in the Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for those services' own acts or outages beyond our reasonable control.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or withdraw features, and we may take the service down for maintenance or other reasons, sometimes without notice. We aim to keep NoshWise available but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the service, including that it is accurate, complete, current, fit for a particular purpose, or safe to rely on for a decision affecting health or safety. The section “What NoshWise is, and is not” above is part of this disclaimer.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Singapore law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data, or goodwill; and our total liability to you for all claims connected with the service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in that period and S$50.

Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs if they arise from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms, to the extent they are caused by you.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using NoshWise at any time and delete your account from your account page. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if keeping your account open would create a real risk to the service or other people. If we end your access without cause while you are on a paid plan, we will refund the unused part of what you have paid. Sections that by their nature should survive termination do survive it, including the disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will give notice on the site or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use NoshWise after that means you accept the new terms. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that we may bring proceedings to protect our intellectual property in any court with jurisdiction.

General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a successor of the NoshWise business, on notice to you. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the service.
